Had a rocky start turn out to be a great time. Glad to see MEK rebuilding once again. Special thanks to Ragnorax for tanking it for us. Grats Niroa on your update in Thuuga as well. Keep up the good work guys. Looking forward to many more of these. |

| | Date: 2009-12-08 Time: 12:32:00 Author: Annarose Subject: Frostfell Begins! Happy Holidays | The history of Frostfell:
Frostfell is a Deepice celebration whose origins are shrouded in mystery. It is widely thought that the festival was started by a demigod who hid gifts of food and other goodies for the citizens of Norrath. No one knows when the tradition first began; it could have been during the Lost Ages when all of Norrath was shrouded in a curse laid by the gods.
During this time, no gods bestowed their grace upon Norrathians save one, who in visited Norrath in secret and hid special prizes from the planes about Norrath to aid what was left of the populace. Some historians theorize that it may even have been Quellious in disguise. Either way, over the years it has developed into a tradition celebrated by all Norrathians.
The Dark Elves and other evil races also participate in this festival. No one really knows why, it could just be that everyone loves to get presents. Naturally, to preserve their image, they maintain that they aren't really receiving gifts, but rewards earned through their own superior skills.
Frostfell has four significant days: Kinship Day - A time for families and friends to spend together, celebrating and renewing bonds; Feasting Day - A shared day of feasting on all the bounty Norrathians have collected throughout the year (a favourite day of halflings!); Gifting Day - Everyone gives and receives presents; Frostfell Day - The final day of celebration, spent in song (or for those races who can't be seen singing, quiet contemplation), parades, dancing, and other fun winter activities.

Day 1. Sokkan, Annarose, Rallph, Aneg, Graliad and myself.
Covered most of the zone, died umpteen times! Menders all around Norrath rejoiced.
Day 2. Sokkan, Annarose, Rallph, Kaduka and little ol me.
Cleared the ones that we ran out of time on first day. Yes folks, a ranger can tank. Gratz to Sokkan for bravely leading the motley crew and taking the beatings he deserves.. err.. hehe.. ok yeah he deserved them! Not above a few pranks, just ask Rallph what happens when Sokkan asks you to move something. lol.
The sight of Graliad running around in broken armor, no sword left to use, valiantly fighting with bow in hand and falling in battle only to come back to join the fray once again could inspire tavern tales and bard songs for years to come.
All contributed greatly and I was glad to have shared the experience. Yay MEK!
Wish I'd thought of a few screen shots to mark the event. Maybe next time.
Looking forward to more of these. Everyone that can should try it. 70's instance, not sure of exact cutoff level. The more folks that learn these zones, the more that will be learned enough to lead some groups in them. |

| | Date: 2008-06-16 Time: 19:47:21 Author: Kaduka Subject: Epic Hunting | Thanks to Dalu's organization of tonight's raid, four of our members completed the Heritage Quest "An Ancient Desert Power". And we managed to find a few other contested epics in the area to conquer.
We killed Rahotep, an Epic x2 mob, as the final step to that HQ. We got 3 updates the first time we killed him. Dalu, Rayzn and Hulkamania all needed him to finish their HQ. After we killed him the first time, we all decided to go hunting for Epics around Sinking Sands that could be done with 2 groups.
We took down:
Meathooks Allidax the Ancient Broog the Banished Perdition Gargilliviontumon the Rock Pile (boy this one was tough... we kept losing several people to pirahna's on the way to his cave. Then we wiped at least once. Lost a couple people and then regrouped, got more people and finally took him down). Moana at 59 was looking sky high to this giant golem who was very dark orange to her. Being that she was the Main Tank, its no wonder he was tough. He didn't give us any AA, but he dropped a nice paladin/shadowknight master that Biggbad won on the FFA rolls. He also dropped a Vanadium, Cobalt and a treasured item or two.
Knod joined us on the regrouping for Gargantuan and asked if we could do Rahotep for him when we were done. Heheh we were close to the 2-hour respawn and went to see if he might spawn early for us. Woot! He did and we took him down a second time in one night.
Many of the raid members got AA, levels and updates. Grats to all! |

| | Date: 2008-04-29 Time: 04:54:34 Author: Kaduka Subject: Historic Mek Event - Congratulations! | For the first time in Mek's History, a group of Mekkers completed the full six guild writ raids! They are now able to pick up any of the quests in any order when we work on doing them all over again to help the rest of our guild finish.
We've been working on the progression weekly, doing 1 or 2 raids a week to help others catch up. These people have all been ready to begin our raids every Monday for the past few weeks. They all hung in there while we had to repeat raids over and over again until last night we finally did 3 at a time and finished the first set of round robins.
Congratulations to: Gnomerpyle, Venomgank, Zelenka and Dracythis for a job well done.
I am soooo Proud of you all!
